- If you have red hair back in Malaysia, everyone would be at awe. As how my brother likes to put it, "head-turning" hairstyle. He always claim that about his hair. And i remembered when my hair was super-red the time, all the people in the pasar malam was like looking at me. AHaha..don't know whether it's because they think it's cool or they think it's gross but still head-turning right?
- Here if you have red hair, it considered normal. Red is such a common colour here. If u want to be unique or stand out in the crowd, probably you should have hair dyed in green or bright purple or pink, even yellow or blue! There are way more diversity in hairstyles and hairdos compared to back home, people here are more daring i guess?
- In Malaysia, there's a lower tolerance to fat people. Most people who are just slightly overweight or chubby, would have been considered an ugly sight to look at. Here, i'm not talking about really really overweight until damn disgusting to look at but just those, slightly over. And people around would already look in disgust. Like as if it's a crime to be overweight. Which reminded me, the other day i was watching this show on TV, "Last Comic Standing", there was this guy named Alphie and he was like what Eu said, "a big blob or slob". Meaning he's so gross all his fat was like jelly-ish...wobbly...
- Here, i think u have to be really obese to be considered overweight or something. People would still dress as freely as they like even though the blob of fat is like jutting out of their shirt or something. Beer belly for girls is just a common sight. As a friend's aunt once said when she was here on a visit, if we Malaysian were to even have the slightest tummy or something, we wouldn't even dare where shirt that would expose that away. Oh, by the way, i'm talking about women not men. Like as if man would give a damn how they look, unless he's a metrosexual guy or gay?
- People in Australia is more confident with their looks and care less about what people think of them as compared to Malaysian. Just that two points that i made illustrated the validity of this statement. Here, even if you are fat, like me...i have a big tummy! You would only think that i'm thin because i'm small size, people will go around asking, "Why are you Asians so thin and slim? Is it the food you eat?". Such compliment huh?
